In geometry, a hexagon is a six-sided polygon or 6-gon. The total of the internal angles of any simple hexagon is 720 degrees. In design, a hexagon has a long history and has been shaped and integrated into homes since the Middle Ages. Sometimes called "nature's perfect shape," hexagons can also be seen in beehives, flowers, snowflakes and turtle shells. This variety of patterns is echoed in design. It’s an ingenious way to add interest to a space and can take form in many elements.
